Zusammenfassung: | BackgroundInconsistent modern-day evidence incited us to examine all-cause mortality and mean age of hospitalization for acute myocardial infarction (AMI), stratified by sex and race.MethodsA nationwide cross-sectional study was conducted using the National Inpatient Sample (2007-2014) by identifying adult patients primarily admitted for AMI. The primary outcomes were all-cause mortality stratified by sex and race and mean age (yrs) at hospitalization for AMI and all-cause mortality. Secondary outcomes were trends in mean age at hospitalization for AMI and all-cause mortality over the study period.ResultsThe final analysis comprised of 4,268,070 AMI hospitalizations. The all-cause in-hospital mortality was seen highest in Asian male (5%) and Asian females (7.4%) among males and females, respectively (p |
