Zusammenfassung: | BackgroundHIV has been linked with increased risk and worse outcomes in Acute Myocardial Infarction based on relatively small studies. However, the outcomes of Acute Myocardial infarction in AIDS population has not been assessed in large-scale studies.MethodsNationwide Inpatient Sample( NIS) database was queried from 2007-2014 to analyze 1,542,324 Acute Myocardial infarction(AMI) patients’(projected population of 7,652,238) and 2,978 patients with AIDS and AMI, which projected to the population of 14,780. We analyzed using International Classification of diseases, 9th revision and clinical modification (ICD-9-CM) codes. Unpaired t-test and binary regression analysis was done after adjusting the data for age, gender, length of stay and Charlson co-morbidity index (17 co-morbidities).ResultsThe mean age for AMI patients with AIDS was 53.3(95%CI 52.57-54.05)years vs. mean age of AMI alone 68.91(95%CI 68.71-69.12) years, p |
