Stressors, Primary and Secondary

Stressors – the problematic or troublesome events, experiences, or perceptions that cause us distress and threaten our well‐being – can be teased out into primary and secondary variants. Primary stressors are the starting points for the stress process. As stress proliferates, secondary stressors may develop as a consequence of primary stressors.
