Comments from the Editors

We are pleased to introduce ourselves as the new coeditors of The Sociological Quarterly (TSQ). It is both an honor and privilege to serve the Midwest Sociological Society in this capacity, and we look forward to sharing with you over the next four years interesting and hopefully stimulating sociological research. TSQ is an important generalist journal that has continued to climb in prestige and compares quite favorably to other regional sociology journals. Our primary goal is to publish articles that advance the field of sociology and thus maintain the reputation of TSQ as a quality journal that attracts articles from a variety of substantive areas. We intend to publish the very best of these regardless of methodology or theoretical orientation. We want to maintain TSQ's reputation by having a fair and speedy review process. We see an important part of our job as helping authors improve their articles regardless of whether these are published in TSQ or another venue. We cannot do this without the help of numerous reviewers and hope that those of you who are invited to review will accept our invitation. Adapted from the source document.
