The starting values are the electronegativities and the bond lengths of the atoms of the corresponding substituent. The ID values, received by this method show a good correlation with the known electronic parameters (F, σ′, σ*, σI and σ qI) and with the velocity constants and equilibrium constants of chemical reactions, respectively.
