Zusammenfassung:A key point of our work is selective adsorption of a C8 isomer with the assistance of metal–organic framework (MOF) breathing, which can be further applied to C8 isomer separation. When a C8 isomer mixture (colored balls) is applied to the MOF from an inlet bottle, the MOF starts to preferentially adsorb a single isomer (green balls) in the pores of MOF by breathing, as depicted by the expanding of the empty cages (MOFs) by incorporating the balls.
