Zusammenfassung:Sustaining data quality also involves protecting business data from corruption, compromise, theft, loss, and other harmful events. Inappropriate handling of business data could result in penalties, financial loss, and invasion of privacy, among other consequences. Data protection is the process of protecting data from corruption, compromise or loss. Data protection is centered around three key areas: data classification for effective management; data safety or availability; and data security. There are five different ways data can be classified from the data protection perspective. They are origination, lifecycle, ownership, sensitivity, and movement. Data safety is protecting data with four key approaches: storage, archival, backup, and disaster recovery practices. Data safety is associated with data storage. Data security entails protecting data from destructive forces and unauthorized users or systems whether the data is in motion or at rest.
