Zusammenfassung: | Incremental sheet forming (ISF) is being recognized as the pragmatic solution to form complex shapes as it does not require dies for doing so. ISF is viable in batch production to meet with crucial requirements such as customization, lesser die setup time, cheaper tooling, and cost reduction. There are redundancy of chapters which explain the journey of ISF from its inception to till date. Current chapter is an attempt to fill this gap. It will make the readers familiar with all the necessary aspects of ISF. The initial part provides an overview of the ISF technology. Subsequently, an in‐depth assessment is done about the various classification of ISF. Classification based on various forming methods such as tools, paths, machines, and hot‐forming are discussed in this chapter. Advantage, limitation, and application of each are described. Finally, concluding observations on the gap in the literature will serve as starting point for future investigations. |
