Zusammenfassung:Cleaning of wastewater using low‐cost adsorbent treatment technology has become an important task to switch off water pollution and water scarcity as well. The present chapter reviewed treatment of industrial dyes using different approaches including clay‐based adsorbents, membrane filtration, and chemical treatment with special focus on clay‐based low‐cost adsorbents. These adsorbents have been modified and characterized using different chemical routes and characterizations. Among various treatment techniques, adsorption of industrial dyes using clay‐based adsorbent has been attracting attention on account of its low‐cost and significant regeneration potential. Based on significant dye removal capacity, it is expected that clay‐based low‐cost adsorbents might be considered as the significant candidates for the industrial wastewater to remove organic dyes.
