Zusammenfassung:Administrative data has become an important resource for business statistics in the Central Statistics Office (CSO) of Ireland. The increased demand from users and policymakers for more timely and granular information on enterprises is difficult to meet through traditional data collection methods without increasing cost and burden. Integrating administrative data into our data operations has given the CSO the opportunity to develop new outputs that can meet these demands. In this chapter, we will outline how integrating administrative data in the CSO business statistics has evolved over time. From using administrative data as a resource to complement primary data operations, to how it is used to create new products to meet growing user demand. We will discuss the challenges of using administrative data and the opportunities it presents, giving examples of new statistical products developed by linking administrative data.
