Zusammenfassung: | The experience of architecture is multisensorial and yet, since the Renaissance, the discipline has been almost exclusively developed as a visual field. This chapter presents the argument that the aural qualities of architecture are deeply important, particularly in todays’ culture and can be transformative elements when given equal consideration by architectural designers. Learning to listen is the first conscience act in this process, followed by the creative implementation of sonic identities and features in order to bring forth a richer and more developed set of aural and communicative qualities in the architectural design process. |
