Zusammenfassung: | Antenna radiation efficiency is an important attribute of antennas as it has a significant effect on the performance, reliability, and efficiency of wireless communications systems. The antenna radiation efficiency is chosen to inter‐compare the measured results obtained in an anechoic chamber (AC) and a reverberation chamber (RC). Due to the cost‐effective nature of establishing an RC, methods for antenna efficiency measurement using an RC have been developed rapidly over recent years. The RC is perhaps one of the best ways to experimentally characterise the antenna radiation efficiency. The chapter presents the formula used for the radiation efficiency evaluation using the AC and the RC, respectively. It also presents a comparison of antenna efficiency measurements performed in the AC and the RC at National Physical Laboratory (NPL) where several omni‐ and directional antennas are considered. |
