Practicing Inclusion: Looking Back and Looking Ahead

This concluding chapter reflects on what the authors believe the book has accomplished and shares a few thoughts about lessons learned, and perspectives for the future. The book presents a new and larger vision for understanding diversity and its benefits at work. Conceptualizing inclusion as a practice allows for greater understanding of its multiple and complex components and, more importantly, how they interact in a dynamic and interdependent fashion. Indeed, practicing inclusion is ongoing and never‐ending; it must be continuously done and attended to in order to achieve its objectives. The chapter ends with four sets of questions that have implications for the future of the practice of inclusion.
