Subcutis

This chapter provides top quality images of skin diseases in subcutis to correlate clinical presentations with histopathologic slides. It discusses the various diseases of the subcutis such as septal panniculitis, lobular panniculitis and fat necrosis. Erythema nodosum may occur in the context of sarcoidosis (Loefgren syndrome with hilar lymphadenopathy, polyarthritis and erythema nodosum). The chapter presents the diagnosis of the lobular pannicultis such as nodular vasculities and erythema nodosum. It also presents other diagnosis such as infectious panniculitis, alpha‐1‐antitrypsin deficiency and subcutaneous sweet syndrome.
