Challenges

The research on ICN, although quite recent, has already experienced some progress with a large number of propositions and solutions covering a wide range of problems and challenges for different issues. However, there are still many open problems and practical aspects for deployment that call for a more detailed investigation. This chapter discusses the main challenges related to naming, routing, caching, security, economic models, practical aspects for deployment and real‐time applications. For each subject, the authors present the main contributions in the literature and try to point out some possible future directions.
