Synthesis and activity of a novel inhibitor of nonsense-mediated mRNA decay

During efforts to prepare the known compound , a new tetracyclic compound, called , was prepared in six steps. This compound was found to have good activity as an inhibitor of nonsense-mediated mRNA decay.
