Zusammenfassung:Computer models for the simulation of grain size development during thermomechanical rolling and the resulting strength properties have been developed for the prediction of the material properties of microalloyed HSLA steel plates. The main input variables for calculations are steel composition, deformation-time-temperature schedule during rolling and cooling rate after rolling. A comparison of calculated and experimentally determined grain sizes as well as strength properties shows a good consistency. The models can therefore efficiently support the development of new steels and the planning of altered production conditions.
