Zusammenfassung: | yons et al discuss a case of pulmonary fibrosis uncovered during evaluation for orthotopic liver transplantation. A 57-year-old man with a history of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) cirrhosis, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and obstructive sleep apnea was referred for a new diagnosis of interstitial lung disease that was detected during the evaluation for a liver transplant. He described several years of progressively worsening cough with thick dear sputum and more recently dyspnea on exertion. He previously worked in construction and did drywall sanding, during which he was exposed to dust. He denied prior tobacco or alcohol use or use of pneumotoxic medications. He was diagnosed with NASH cirrhosis 6 years ago. His family history was notable for his father having been diagnosed with NASH cirrhosis and pulmonary asbestosis. |
