CHARACTERIZATION OF BRAZILIAN MUSIC FOR THE PURPOSE OF ORGANIZING INFORMATION

It is known that the collection of Brazilian music is vast and reflects the traditions of the country due to its strong connection with the local culture. From the informational and technological point of view, it is important to characterize Brazilian music and its limits, in order to allow the construction of strategies for the preservation and organization of these musical contents. On the other hand, the literature points out some definitions for the concept of Brazilian music that suggest a revision in order to formalize the characteristics of this musical style. This article presents an ethnographic study with musicians specialized in the theme in order to identify a more precise definition of Brazilian popular music and its most relevant attributes.
