A case of Aerococcus urinae septicemia： an unusual presentation and severe disease course

Aerococcus urinae （A. urinae ）, a catalasenegative, Gram-positive coccus, is a newlyemerged pathogen in clinical and microbiological practice, which was first reported in 1989 and designated in 1992. Most infections occur in the urinary tract, especially in elderly with local or systemic predisposing conditions such as diabetes mellitus, malignancy, urethral stricture or prostate hyperplasia.
