Zusammenfassung: | With the advent of “Internet +” Era and the rapid development of mobile Internet, the Internet is reconstructing adolescents’ psychosocial development. This study investigated the types of adolescents’ Internet use patterns and the associations with psychosocial adjustment, including self-esteem, peer attachment, positive affects and negative affects. 1170 adolescents from Grade 7~11 participated in this study. Cluster analysis was conducted to explore the Internet use patterns of adolescents according to the frequency they used the Internet for online information seeking, online social media, and online entertainment. The clustering results identified 5 types of Internet use patterns: information seeking preferred, social media and entertainment preferred, balanced, information seeking and social media preferred, and low Internet-using.
