Zusammenfassung: | This paper analyzes the conflict and fusion of educational views in The Republic by using the hermeneutic method and starting from the "quarrel between philosophy and poetry". It is found that: behind the quarrel between philosophy and poetry in The Republic is the dispute over the dominant power of education and the orthodox view of justice, but in essence it is the dispute between human desire and rationality. This kind of dispute between reason and desire has always been the main line of western educational tradition, but Plato’s educational plan to solve the quarrel between philosophy and poetry has inherent defects, which will lead to the autocracy of reason over desire. Therefore, future education should go beyond the confrontation between rationality and emotion, take rationality as the guide and emotion as the driving force, and cultivate students’ability to form cognition, understand social emotion and transform society based on their experience in life |
