Zirconium oxide nanoparticles are an efficient catalyst for the preparation of 1 -pyrazolo[1,2- ]phthalazine-5,10-diones via a three-component reaction of phthalhydrazide, aromatic aldehydes and malononitrile under solvent-free conditions.
