Zusammenfassung: | I had the pleasure of being an early reader of this book in the meridional summer of 2021. As a literacy researcher, I was deeply moved by the perspective this book offers on the conditions of teaching and learning language in post-apartheid South Africa, by the ethical and epistemological constraints posed by the enduring colonial structures and, above all, by the impressive number of connections that as a researcher, teacher and teacher educator, I could establish with my own country, Chile.
Andreotti and Stein (this volume) explain the interdependence of modernity and coloniality, even in contexts where colonization has ceased. |
