Zusammenfassung:I studied the effectiveness of the MultiTrack Validator to determine whether or not it could distinguish between primary and secondary vertexes in the Phase 1 Tracker Upgrade of the Super Large Hadron Collider, as finding secondary vertexes is important in the search for new physics. I attempted to modify the transverse impact parameter by breaking it up into two zones, an inner transverse impact parameter (where primary vertexes should originate) and an outer transverse impact parameter (where secondary vertexes should originate). However, my results primarily using the Four-Muon sample as my test sample show that there are multiple problems with using the MultiTrack Validator in this area of research, and it is not effective nor useful for distinguishing between secondary vertexes. I am forced to conclude that B-tagging is the best approach in searching for secondary vertexes.
