Lighting device for display device, display device and television receiver

A lighting device for a display device of the present invention includes tubular light sources provided in a parallel arrangement and covering members that covers respective ends of the tubular light sources . Electrodes are provided at ends of the tubular light sources . Electrical terminals for electrically connecting to the electrodes are assembled to the covering members . Namely, the covering members have an electrical connection function for connecting the tubular light sources to an external power source in addition to a covering function that is its primary function for covering the ends of the tubular light sources so that they are not viewed. With this configuration, efficiency of the assembly work can be improved and reliable power supply to the tubular light sources can be provided.
