Even the banknote having a short length in a transporting direction is held between the first tape and second tape at a position of the tape pressing body for transportation. An outer diameter of the winding drum is detected by an outer diameter detecting unit , and the tape pressing body is moved by a moving unit in accordance with the detected outer diameter of the winding drum , and the tape pressing body is moved to an appropriate position following a change in the outer diameter of the winding drum . Thus, the maximum storage quantity of the banknote can be increased and the banknote can be stably stored and fed.
