Load-distributing rotor insert for aircraft brakes

An aircraft brake rotor includes a circular rotor disk having first and second walls and a peripheral wall connecting the first and second walls, the peripheral wall including at least one notch having a bottom wall and first and second side walls extending away from the bottom wall, an insert having a first portion mounted against the first side wall and a retainer connected to the rotor disk and having at least one projection, a portion of the at least one insert extending between the at least projection and the first side wall, thus limiting movement of the insert in a direction perpendicular to the first side wall.
