Zusammenfassung: | A luer cleaner assembly for cleaning luer fittings secured to proximal ends of medical tubing. The luer cleaner includes a luer-receiving cavity within which are contained scrubbers that scrub exposed outer surfaces of a luer fitting inserted thereinto through an open distal end of the luer cleaner housing. The luer cleaner includes at a proximal end a fluid reservoir containing a cleaning fluid such as isopropyl alcohol. The assembly further includes a reservoir-penetrating array of sharp pointed projections, such that during luer cleaning the reservoir is pressed distally toward the luer fitting in the cavity for the array of projections to penetrate a distal cover of the reservoir to access the cleaning fluid which then flows distally through passageways into the luer-receiving cavity and onto the scrubbers and the outer surfaces of the luer fitting. |
