| Zusammenfassung: | Glass bottle breaking apparatus comprises a hopper for receiving empty glass bottles in bulk, at least a portion of the hopper being formed as a grating including stop means, and a shaft located outside of the hopper carrying hammers mounted for pivotal movement relative to the shaft. When the shaft is rotated on its central longitudinal axis by means of a motor and drive, the flailing hammers move in an arcuate path into and through the hopper towards and through the stop means and impact with bottles contained within the hopper and lying in the path of the hammers causing breakage of the bottles. The apparatus provides for a compact bottle breaking machine with reduced risk of jamming. |
