Zusammenfassung:This application claims priority under 35 U.S.C. §119(e) from U.S. Provisional Application No. 60/191,654, filed Mar. 23, 2000, the contents of which is incorporated by reference herein in its entirety. The present invention provides various methods for utilizing a polypeptide encoding a chemokine (MEC) and a polypeptide translated therefrom. The MEC chemokine is underexpressed in tumors, making the chemokine a useful marker for diagnosis and prognosis of adverse bodily reactions.
