Tactile interface system for electronic data display system

The present invention relates to tactile interface systems for use with electronic data display systems generally, and to tactile interface systems for use with multiple environments, in particular. An electronic data display system (EDDS) which includes a computer system for containing a multiple data field environment (MDFE), including portions of displayable data, and at least one tactile display for displaying data contained within the MDFE. The system also includes first and second movable navigation devices. The first device selects data from a first selected portion of the MDFE for display by the tactile display. The second navigation device selects data for display from a second selected portion of the MDFE, the second portion being different from the first selected portion.
