Water pump and impeller therefor

This invention relates to water pumps for internal combustion engines, including but not limited to, water pump impellers. A water pump () and impeller () for use in applications such as internal combustion engines. A plurality of holes () are formed near the hub and periphery of the impeller () of the water pump to provide coolant flow through a cavity () housing a seal. The seal () is thereby cooled to prevent premature failure of the seal () due to overheating.
