Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to separating liquids such as petroleum based oils, fuels oils and gasolines from organic and inorganic substances such as water, algae and solids. The present invention is an apparatus and a method that separates petroleum products such as fuel oil and gasoline from other foreign constituents, such as water and organic and inorganic solids. In the present invention a petroleum product and its undesirable impurities enters a cylindrical chamber having an input port and an output port. Within the container exists a longitudinal input chamber which forces the fluid to assume a velocity, acceleration and direction as it progresses through the chamber and finally ejected through a nozzle which directs the fluid into a concave surface to produce a rotation of the fluid. Due to centrifugal and other physical forces, components of greater specific gravity are deflected at an angle relatively smaller than components having a larger specific gravity. The petroleum products such as fuel, which have lower specific gravity than either water or solid constituents such as sand and sediment, flow away from the convex barrier and are swept into the current of the fluid as it makes it way under pump pressure to the output port. The heavier specific gravity components settle and tend towards a sump at the bottom of the large container.
