Bicyclic antagonists selective for the v 3 integrin

This invention relates to a series of tetrahydro- and dihydroquinoline, tetrahydronaphthalene and tetrahydro-5H-benzocycloheptene bicyclic compounds of Formulae (I) and (II) and non-toxic salts thereof, which selectively antagonize the integrin while minimally inhibiting platelet aggregation mediated by integrin and are useful as bone antiresorptive agents. This invention provides novel bicyclic compounds of Formula (I): wherein u, v, m, Y, G, A-B, R, R, R, R, R, R, and Rare defined in the specification which compounds exhibit activity as inhibitors of bone resorption and compounds of Formula (II) wherein u, v, m, Y, G, D, A-B, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, and Rare defined in the specification which compounds exhibit activity as inhibitors of bone resorption.
