This invention relates to a process for preparing certain 4-hydroxy indole, indazole and 4-hydroxy carbozole compounds useful as intermediates for preparing compounds useful for inhibiting sPLA mediated release of fatty acids for conditions such as septic shock. A process for preparing 4-hydroxy carbazoles useful as intermediates for preparing compounds that are useful for inhibiting sPLAand novel intermediates.
