Zusammenfassung:A method for making an aluminum substrate that is subjected to repeated impaction more wear resistant. The method comprises applying at least about 0.005 inch thick coating of an amorphous composition directly to only portions of this substrate, preferably after it is shaped into a product for transporting consumable materials. The coating composition to which steel, aluminum, PTFE and/or polyethylene may be added, can be thermally sprayed to the substrate surface.
