Behavior of Ester Liquids Under Various Operating Fault Conditions

The present chapter discusses the gassing behavior of ester liquids under selected faulty condition. The fault conditions include corona discharging, arcing, and hotspot conditions. To understand the realistic gassing behavior, the said faults are simulated in the bulk of the insulating liquids at different aging conditions. This allowed authors to understand the influence of the state of the liquids (degradations) on the gassing tendency of various liquids. Dissolved gas analysis and diagnostic characterizations have been reported in the sections of the present chapter.
