Zusammenfassung:Biology plays an important role in many of the problems social workers seek to address, yet few social work investigations assess any aspect of biology or examine the reciprocal interaction between biological characteristics and the social environment. This introduction orients readers to 5 interdisciplinary invited articles comprising a special section on social work and neuroscience, and it discusses the importance of integrating social work and neuroscience research to understand a range of social problems. The special section illustrates the relevance of neuroscience research to the field of social work and provides examples of how social work researchers can integrate neuroscience into their investigations.
