Three areas will be examined: 1) Those studies which analyse the significance of the subject, as well as the problems which result from it. 2) How research in this field has been affected by the controversial move to include the subject in the curriculum for the Secondary Education. 3) The growing interest in the studies on Genetics problem solving, and its relationship with the conceptual knowledge.
