Zusammenfassung:Káfastallat means drinking coffee together in Lule Sámi. It relates to an activity among Sámi (and others), the everyday casual conversations which are an important and integral part for maintenance and development of Sámi culture. Drawing on the famous salons of Early Modern and Revolutionary France which played an integral role in the cultural and intellectual development of the country (Beasley), the concept Káfastallat is also about developing “safe spaces” for innovative conversations in regard to Sámi/Indigenous realities, livelihood and decolonization. This is the research plan for the NOS/HS funding application, for a series of three workshops, funding approved by Vetenskapsrådet Dnr 2015-00148/NOS-HS, workshops 2015, Humanities and Social Sciences.  The project was initiated and led by Sámi scholars Dr May-Britt Öhman, Uppsala University, Astri Dankertsen, Nord University and Sanna Valkonen, University of Lapland, all within Sábme - Sámi territories.
