Such sorbents could be used potentially to reduce the energy demands for separating carbon dioxide from flue gas as compared with today's technologies. Here, we review the literature for crystalline, inorganic, and potentially inexpensive adsorbents. A number of different adsorbents with narrow pore openings are compared.
