Zusammenfassung: | The dynamic response caused by the rolling contact of rough surfaces is studied experimentally, considering the non-stationary contact interaction of a steel ball and a steel beam with rough surfaces. This is carried out by building a test rig whereby a steel ball is allowed to roll over a steel beam with a machined surface. The dynamic response is evaluated by measuring the resulting vibrations of the beam. A previously developed theoretical model for the dynamic response caused by the rolling contact of rough surface is applied to this problem, and validated by comparing predicted and measured acceleration levels. |
