Zusammenfassung:Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), a flexible mechanism established in Article 12 of the Kyoto Protocol, stipulates that the contracting parties (within the scope of Annex I) can cooperate with the Non‐Annex I parties to implement greenhouse gas emission reduction projects in developing countries, aiming to facilitate sustainable development in developing countries and to assist the developed countries included in Annex‐I in achieving the ultimate goal of reducing the emission of greenhouse gases under the Kyoto Protocol. The Chinese government has paid great attention to the development and management of CDM projects, and has designated the Designated National Authority (DNA) in charge of Chinese CDM project activities. On June 30, 2004, the Chinese government issued Interim Measures for Operation and Management of CDM Projects, which was put into trial implementation for one year. At the termination of the trial implementation, the Chinese government officially issued Measures for the Operation and Management of Clean Development Mechanism Projects (hereafter the “CDM Rules”) on October 12, 2005. The report is one of the collaborative research results of the Chinese and European partners of the EU‐China CDM Facilitation Project.
