Zusammenfassung:The crystal and molecular structures of Cl–C 6 H 4 –O–C 16 H 33 ( I ) have been studied, and its differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) study is performed. Crystals I do not reveal mesomorphism. The crystal packing of compound I consists of alternating aromatic and loosely packed aliphatic regions, which is typical of mesomorphic crystals. The absence of mesomorphism in compound I is caused by the lack of weak directed interactions in the aromatic regions of crystal.
