Zusammenfassung:Thealgebraic objects discussed in this book are determined by two types of structures: continuous ones related to convexity and discrete ones determined by lattices. In this chapter we develop notions of convex geometry and of combinatorial topology related to convexity.The basic convex objects are polyhedra, polytopes, and cones, and the related combinatorial constructions are polyhedral complexes, triangulations, and fans. In the last section we unite convexity and lattice structures.
