Zusammenfassung:This paper discusses the parallelization of the operational limited area weather prediction code HIRLAM on MIMD computers. Both the explicit and the semi-implicit gridpoint version and the spectral version have been parallelized. A brief outline of the model and the parallelization techniques is given. Preliminary results on the CRAY T3D are very encouraging with respect to speedup for fixed size problems and the amount of communication needed.
