Zusammenfassung: | This work presents the annual performance of a photovoltaic (PV) module under weather conditions in Hit City, Iraq. The Sam software is used to determine the hourly performance of the PV module and validate this output with the experimental results. The experimental PV system includes a 450 W PV module, a DC to AC current inverter, and a 12V 100Ah battery. Moreover, the weather data of solar irradiance and ambient temperature are also measured and compared with the weather data in the library of the software. The results of the annual power output, PV temperature, and efficiency of the PV module are presented. The validation of the weather data shows that the difference between the theoretical data and measured data for ambient temperature on 17 October and 18 October is (3.21% and 3.57%) respectively, while the value of solar irradiance on the same days was (5.03% and 4.75%) respectively. Moreover, the validation also shows that the difference between the theoretical and measured PV power output is 4.55% and 5.73%, respectively and PV temperature is 3.55% and 3.37%, respectively. Overall, the annual PV power production located in Hit is about 685 kW/h with a capacity factor of 17.4%. |
