Zusammenfassung:This study aimed to design a mathematics learning model based on the local wisdom of Malang to support the critical and creative thinking of secondary school students. This research employed the Plomp model, which consists of preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment phases. However, this research focused on the prototyping stage. The components of the learning model consist of syntax, social system, reaction principles, support systems, and instructional and nurturant effects. The results of this research are a learning model that incorporates the context of Malang’s local wisdom. The scope of this study is limited to the development of the syntax and support system, such as students’ worksheets and project tasks, based on the local wisdom of Malang. The local knowledge in the model included cultural traditions, historical events, and natural phenomena relevant to the local context. The study suggests that the development of mathematics learning models based on the local wisdom of Malang has the potential to support and promote their critical and creative thinking skills. Further research is needed to develop a valid, practical, and effective learning mathematics model based on the local wisdom of Malang to support students’ critical and creative thinking skills.
