Zusammenfassung:Abrasive jet machining (AJM) involves removing material from a workpiece using a high-velocity stream of abrasive particles propelled by air through a nozzle. The abrasive particles impact the work material at high speed, primarily causing erosion for material removal. AJM finds its primary application in shaping hard and brittle materials such as glass and ceramics. This environmentally friendly process poses no health hazards and is both flexible and energy-efficient. AJM is particularly advantageous for machining brittle materials due to the cost and limitations associated with conventional machining techniques. As a relatively new technique, abrasive jet machining employs an air jet containing small abrasive particles to erode material surfaces, creating micro features in the workpiece.
